On 4th September 2023, Canadian Solar forecasts a possible short supply of solar modules, especially the top modules, in Q4 of 2023.

The company reports that prices for silicon materials, silicon wafers, and cells remained stable and increased slightly during Q3 2023. However, module prices did not follow suit, which was seen as an adjustment period, and module prices may subsequently rise and experience a shortage.

Additionally, Canadian Solar is one of the few companies in the world that supplies both TOPCon and HJT module products. For HJT manufacturing, a pilot production line with a capacity of 250MW in Jiaxing City, China, is operational to produce modest quantities of high-end modules for the overseas market, and mass production will soon be operational.

By the end of 2023, Canadian Solar anticipates that its production capacity for silicon ingots, wafers, cells, and modules will achieve 20.4GW, 21GW, 50GW, and 50GW respectively. The aim is to expand these figures to 50.4GW, 60GW, 70GW, and 80GW by the end of 2024.
