BTR New Material Group, a Chinese lithium battery material maker, had the highest income and net profit of the 225 companies listed on the Beijing Stock Exchange to have released their financial reports for the first three quarters as of yesterday.
BTR's revenue jumped 15.6 percent to a record CNY20.3 billion (USD2.8 billion) in the three months ended Sept. 30 from a year earlier, it said in an earnings report released last month. Net profit climbed 0.5 percent to CNY1.4 billion (USD191.3 million), also a record high.
Shenzhen-based BTR was the only listed company on the BSE with a revenue of more than CNY5 billion and a net profit exceeding CNY1 billion.
BTR's third-quarter income dropped 6.5 percent to CNY6.9 billion from a year ago, while its net profit rose 17.7 percent to CNY517 million (USD70.6 million).
The Beijing bourse earned CNY8.9 billion in the first nine months of this year, down 23 percent from a year earlier. Some 201 listed companies, or 90 percent of the total, were profitable last quarter, with half seeing profits increase. The firm's total revenue climbed 2.6 percent to CNY120.4 billion (USD16.5 billion).
Established in August 2000, BTR is mainly engaged in the manufacturing of chemical raw materials and chemical products. Its largest shareholder is China Baoan Group, with a 52 percent stake.
