Chinese hydropower equipment supplier Zhefu Holdings has won a CNY223 million (USD31 million) order from a hydropower station under construction in Guinea.
Zhefu will provide three hydroelectric generating units with a capacity of 100 megawatts each, as well as ancillary facilities, to the Amaria hydropower station, delivered by installment, within 550 days, the Zhejiang province-based company announced late yesterday.
The Amaria hydropower station, with a total investment of USD1.2 billion and a planned power generation capacity of 300 MW, is being built by a subsidiary of TBEA, a Chinese power transformer manufacturer. Once completed, the station is expected to generate about 1,383 gigawatt-hours annually, with corresponding on-grid electricity of 1,378 GWh, greatly alleviating Guinea’s power supply shortage.
The supply order, which accounts for about 1.3 percent of the company’s operating revenue in 2022, is expected to contribute to Zhefu’s sales revenue and net profit this and next year, the firm added.
Zhefu’s shares [SHE: 002266] were trading up 0.9 percent at CNY3.38 (48 US cents) as of lunch break in Shenzhen today.
