On 8 March 2024, Suzhou Shijing Environmental Technology Co (SJEF, SZ:301030), a company principally engaged in the research, development, production and sale of process pollution prevention and control equipment and terminal pollution control equipment, announced that it has joined hands with Jinko Solar Co, Ltd (Jinko Solar, SH:688223), one of the world’s largest and most innovative solar module manufacturers, to invest in the construction of a photovoltaic product manufacturing base in Ziyang City, Sichuan Province of China.
The first phase of the project is expected to be launched in April 2024 and to be operational in the fourth quarter of 2024, gradually reaching production capacity of 10GW of wafers and 10GW of solar cells. The second phase will then be launched according to market conditions, with production capacity of another 10GW of wafers and 10GW of solar cells.
Meanwhile, a subsidiary of SJEF has signed a solar cell supply agreement with Jinko Solar and its subsidiaries. SJEF will supply approximately 2.5 billion pieces of 182 or A-grade solar cells to Jinko Solar and its subsidiaries during the period from 1 January 2024 to 31 December 2025.
