The circular belt of the dome of Unit 7 of Tianwan Nuclear Power Station (TNPS) was successfully hoisted into place on May 19, in East China's Jiangsu Province, marking the unit's shift from the civil construction stage to the equipment installation stage.
Reactor Building of Unit 7&8 of TNPS is a double-containment structure, and the hoisting of their domes is divided into two parts: the circular belts and the tops. Weighing 375.5 tons, the circular belt of the dome of TNPS Unit 7 was lifted using a 2,000-ton crawler crane. With an upper diameter of about 36.52 meters, a lower diameter of 44 meters, and a height of about 12.27 meters, it is distributed with installation equipment of different specifications.

At present, the Tianwan nuclear power base has the largest total installed capacity in the world. The cumulative safe power generation of its six units exceeds 370 billion kWh, which could supply more than 100 million Chinese households for 1.5 years.
Upon completion, Unit 7&8 of TNPS will have an installed capacity of 9 million kW and will provide clean electricity of 70 billion kWh every year, which is equivalent to cutting carbon dioxide emissions by 57.40 million tons. This will play an important role in building a clean, low-carbon, safe and efficient modern energy system, promoting green and low-carbon development, and achieving the nation's goals of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality.
