PVTIME-Longmax Technology,a professional solar PV application technology service provider, has recently been awarded a contract to supply PV combiner boxes for the 1.1GW Al Henakiyah Solar PV(R4)project.
The 1.1GW Al Henakiyah Solar PV(R4)project is one of the fourth round of photovoltaic(PV)projects being processed by the Saudi Power Procurement Company(SPPC)under the National Renewable Energy Programme(NREP),in which a consortium of companies including Masdar,EDF Renewables and Nesma Company are participating. The project involves the development, financing, construction and operation of the 1,100MWac PV plant, which will be located in the Al Henakiyah region of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The plant is expected to be commercially operational in 2026 and will be able to produce clean energy to power approximately 190,000 residential units annually, taking advantage of the large land area and long hours of sunshine.
Under the leadership and supervision of the Ministry of Energy, the NREP aims to transform the Kingdom's power generation mix to achieve 50%renewable energy by 2030.The photovoltaic(PV)market in the region has experienced an unprecedented boom in recent years, with a surge in construction and investment.
