During the three-day China-Africa Cooperation Forum in Beijing,Egypt and China signed agreements with Chinese companies totalling more than$1.1 billion,including a number of manufacturing projects and industrial facilities focused on the China-Egypt TEDA Suez Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone and other strategic locations across Egypt.Specifically,EliTe Solar has entered into an agreement with Egypt TEDA Sezone development Co.to build a PV factory to produce n-type cells and modules in Egypt.
The two sides have agreed to invest more than 150 million yuan(approximately US$21.09 million)in the construction and operation of the solar cell factory.The entire facility will be completed in two phases,with the first phase expected to be operational in September 2025,producing 2GW of solar cells per year with an expected annual revenue of US$190 million.Approximately 600 jobs will be created.
In addition,EliTe Solar claims to have a further plan to build PV manufacturing bases in the Middle East to reach a production capacity of 8GW of solar products.These projects will introduce advanced technologies and management systems to optimise the supply chain and promote the deployment of solar PV systems for the region.
