The founding ceremony of China Yarlung Zangbo River Group Co was recently held in Beijing.Zhang Guoqing,a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China(CPC)Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council,attended the event and unveiled the nameplate for the newly established company,Xinhua News Agency reported on Saturday.

Zhang emphasized that the company's establishment is a major strategic decision made by the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core.It reflects a comprehensive approach to national and energy security under the new strategy,and the Party's governance policy for Southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region in the new era.The move is also a key step toward ensuring the smooth construction and operation of the Yarlung Zangbo hydropower project.

Zhang called on China Yarlung Zangbo River Group Co to fully implement the decisions and plans of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council.He urged the company to meticulously manage and execute the project,uphold a quality-first,and safety-oriented approach,prioritize technological innovation and ecological protection,and advance construction with a strong sense of responsibility to history and the people.

Zhang also stressed the need for sound corporate operations and management:establishing a flat,efficient management structure,building a digital and intelligent command and dispatch system,and developing a performance evaluation and team management system aligned with the project's needs.He encouraged carrying forward the"Old Xizang Spirit"to foster a strong culture of dedication and innovation.

Moreover,Zhang called for integrating Party leadership with sound corporate governance,ensuring that the company's Party committee plays a leading rolein setting the direction,managing overall strategies,and ensuring policy implementation.He also emphasized the importance of grassroots Party organizations as pillars of strength and Party members as role models,with the goal of making the Yarlung Zangbo hydropower project a landmark project with Chinese characteristics that can stand the test of history.

Officials from relevant central government departments,local governments,enterprises,as well as experts and employee representatives,attended the ceremony.
