Vestas announced two new wind turbine orders in Argentina, with a combined capacity of 217MW,as part of its third-quarter intake for 2025.
The first order covers a 186MW project that will feature eight V162 6.4MW turbines.Delivery and commissioning are scheduled for 2026.The agreement also includes a 25-year AOM5000 service contract, ensuring long-term operation and maintenance support.
The second order involves a 31MW project, where Vestas will provide five V162 6.2MW turbines.Delivery is set for 2026,with commissioning expected in 2027.This project is also backed by a 25-year AOM5000 service agreement, highlighting Vestas’focus on lifecycle service solutions.
Both contracts were placed by undisclosed customers. The projects further expand Vestas’footprint in Argentina’s renewable energy market and demonstrate ongoing demand for its V162 turbine platform, part of the EnVentus series.
The V162 turbines, designed to deliver strong performance under varying wind conditions, offer optimized output and high efficiency.Their use in both projects reflects continued interest in flexible,large-rotor models for wind farm developments across Latin America.
By securing long-term service agreements,Vestas strengthens collaboration with project operators while ensuring that the turbines maintain consistent performance throughout their operational life. The AOM5000 service plan is designed to maximize energy output and reliability over a 25-year period, providing stability for project stakeholders.
With delivery timelines extending into 2026 and 2027,these projects underscore the role of wind power in Argentina’s energy transition. As new capacity is integrated, wind generation is expected to contribute further to regional power supply diversification and renewable energy targets.
