Enel,Italy's leading utility company, announced on Monday the successful completion of its acquisition of two onshore wind farm projects in Germany. This transaction represents the company's first major purchase of renewable energy facilities in the German market.
The total value of the deal amounts to approximately 80 million euros, equivalent to about 94 million U.S.dollars,including assumed debt.Enel noted that the newly acquired assets are expected to add around 10 million euros annually to its ordinary core earnings.
The two wind farms have a combined installed capacity of 51 megawatts. They operate under a support mechanism that provides a guaranteed minimum revenue for the electricity generated, ensuring stable financial returns.
This acquisition strengthens Enel's presence in the German renewable energy sector, aligning with its broader strategy to expand portfolio of clean power generation across Europe.Germany continues to be a key market for wind energy development, supported by national targets for increasing renewable sources in the energy mix.
Enel has been actively pursuing growth opportunities in renewables worldwide, focusing on technologies such as wind and solar to support the transition toward sustainable electricity production.
The completion of this deal follows Enel's ongoing efforts to optimize its asset base and invest in projects that offer reliable performance and predictable cash flows.
