Indian solar manufacturer Premier Energies has officially opened a 5.6GW solar module factory in Seetharampur,Telangana.Spanning 75 acres, the facility produces four G12R cell-less TOPCon modules every 16 seconds, increasing the company’s total module production capacity to 11.1GW.
Currently in trial production, the factory is expected to generate around 2,000 local jobs.Premier Energies’Managing Director,Chiranjeev Saluja, described the commissioning as a significant step in establishing a comprehensive solar manufacturing ecosystem. He emphasised the company’s commitment to expanding operations across the entire ingot-to-module value chain, with the aim of providing dependable, effective solutions and facilitating India’s shift towards clean energy.
The facility is equipped with highly automated production lines that ensure high precision, consistent quality, and enhanced capacity while reducing operational costs.AI-driven fault detection enables real-time identification and correction of defects, thereby improving module reliability and performance.
Headquartered in New Delhi,Premier Energies is advancing towards fully integrated manufacturing capabilities for ingots, wafers, cells and modules, and is expanding into battery energy storage and inverter production. The company recently unveiled India’s first cell-less(0BB)TOPCon solar cell, representing a departure from traditional 10BB and 16BB designs.
In October 2025,Premier Energies strengthened its solar supply chain by acquiring 51%stakes in transformer manufacturer Transcon and inverter manufacturer KSolare Energy.Premier Energies invested 5 billion Indian rupees(approximately 57 million US dollars)in Transcon and 1.7 billion Indian rupees(approximately 19 million US dollars)in KSolare,in partnership with Syrma SGS Technology. This move reinforces Premier Energies'presence across the full solar manufacturing and power electronics value chain.
In June 2025,Premier Energies commissioned a 1.2GW TOPCon solar cell production line at Fab City in Hyderabad,Telangana. This facility uses a 16-busbar design to boost power output, with an expected cell conversion efficiency of over 25%.
