On 6 June, LONG announced that it has signed an investment cooperation agreement with the management committee of Xi’an Economic and Technological Development Zone for the construction of monocrystalline silicon rods, monocrystalline cells and supporting projects in Xi’an, Shaanxi Province, China.
The whole project aim to achieve a total production capacity of 20GW of monocrystalline silicon ingots and 24GW of monocrystalline cells per year.
The project will be completed in three phases. In the first phase, production capacity of 20GW of monocrystalline silicon ingots and 12GW of monocrystalline cells will be achieved by the end of 2025 with an investment of 7.5 billion yuan; in the second phase, production capacity of 12GW of monocrystalline cells will be achieved with an investment of 3.5 billion yuan.
The third phase is for further expansion and the construction of the LONGi Global Innovation Centre, which is expected to be operational by the end of December 2025, with an investment of 1.5 billion yuan.
