Chinese electric vehicle startup Nio launched the ET5 Touring in an online event on Thursday. The global model will be first delivered to Chinese customers with a starting price of 298,000 yuan ($41,700).
The station wagon is 4,790 millimeters in length, 1,960 mm in width and 1,499 mm in height with a wheelbase of 2,888 mm. The model provides a large and flexible space in the back for luggage.
With dual electric motors at the front and rear, the model has a maximum output of 360 kilowatts and a top torque of 700 Newton meters. Its acceleration of 0-100 kilometers per hour is 4 seconds.
Nio provides three types of battery with capacities of 75 kilowatt-hours, 100 kWh and 150 kWh, which has the maximum range of 990 km. All batteries are swappable.
The station wagon features the Nio Aquila Super Sensing System, which comprises up to 33 sensors, including a lidar and cameras.
The Nio ET5 Touring is equipped with the NAD (Nio Autonomous Driving) system that helps users to drive on highways and urban roads. It is also capable of self-parking and visiting a battery swap station automatically.
In the future, the station wagon will hit overseas markets including Germany, Denmark, the Netherlands, Sweden and Norway.
