1. From Jan. to Jul. 2023, sales of Chinese branded passenger vehicles soared by 20.4% YoY to 7.19 million units. During the same period, the market share of these vehicles reached 53.8%, according to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers.
2. China produced 18.4 bln cubic meters of natural gas last month, up 7.6% YoY. From Jan. to Jul., the country's natural gas output rose 5.7% YoY to 134 bln cubic meters, data from the National Bureau of Statistics showed.

7. According to the Ministry of Water Resources recently, China's water and soil erosion area stood at 2.65 mln square km in 2022, down 20,800 square km, or 0.78%, compared with 2021. Of the total, the area of hydraulic erosion is 1.09 mln square km, down 1.38% YoY. There is also a wind erosion area of 1.56 mln square km, down 0.36% YoY.
