1. On Oct. 18, during The Third Belt and Road Forum For International Cooperation, JinkoSolar and Saudi Arabia's ACWA Power signed a 3.8GW PIF 3 project component agreement. JinkoSolar will provide high-efficiency N-type TOPCon Tiger Neo modules for ACWA Power.
2. Trina Solar signed a MoU with AD Ports and Jiangsu Overseas Cooperation Investment Co., Ltd. about the cooperation in UAE yesterday at The Third Belt and Road Forum For International Cooperation. Trina Solar intends to build a large integrated base in the Demonstration Park and Khalifa Economic Zone, and the planned production capacity includes about 50,000 tons of high-purity silicon materials, 30GW of crystalline silicon wafers, and 5GW of battery modules.
3. On Oct. 18, according to data from the National Bureau of Statistics of China, in September 2023, China's total photovoltaic cell output was 51.4 GW, a year-on-year increase of 65.4%. In the first three quarters of 2023, China's total photovoltaic cell output totaled 384.28 GW, up 63.2% YoY.
4. Chinese national oil company CNOOC and French energy company Engie have completed a yuan-settled liquefied natural gas (LNG) trade through the Shanghai Petroleum and Natural Gas Exchange. The transaction was done on the international LNG trading platform, the Shanghai Petroleum and Natural Gas Exchange said in a statement on Tuesday evening, adding that a cargo of about 65,000 metric tons of LNG will be delivered in November.
5. Two Chinese suppliers for Tesla will invest nearly a billion dollars in the northern Mexican state of Nuevo Leon where the automaker is planning a new factory, Nuevo Leon Governor Samuel Garcia said during a trip to Shanghai on Wednesday. The planned investments include $700 million from Ningbo Tuopu Group and $260 million from Hesai Technology, a Nuevo Leon representative said.
6. Recently, the first phase of LONGI's Serendah Module Factory was put into operation. The project is located in Serendah, Selangor, Malaysia, covering an area of 140 acres. It is LONGi's first manufacturing base in western Malaysia and will be constructed in two phases. When completed, the module production capacity will reach 8.8GW.
7. On Oct. 18, according to data from TrendForce, by the end of 2023, N-type battery production capacity will reach 676GW, of which the production capacity of TOPCon technology cells will reach 570GW, accounting for approximately 84% of the total N-type production capacity, having an absolute advantage.
8. Chery Automobile and Jetour will stick to gas vehicles for a long time and develop hybrid models for the new energy transformation, Li Xueyong, deputy general manager of Chery Auto, recently told Yicai. There will be three to five Chinese car brands left in two years, he added.
9. Recently, the National Energy Administration of China and the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan jointly signed an agreement in Beijing. The two parties will further deepen and expand cooperation in the fields of renewable energy power generation, related supporting power grid construction and renovation, technological innovation, etc.
10. On Oct. 19, according to SDIC Power, recently, at a business forum jointly sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce of China and the Indonesian Ministry of Marine and Investment Coordination, SDIC Power and Indonesia's National Electric Power Company signed a cooperation framework agreement. The two parties will carry out in-depth cooperation in clean energy and cascade hydropower development.
