1. China's investment in water conservancy projects totaled 801.94 billion yuan ($114.23 billion) in the first eight months of this year, up 10.7% YOY, a government official said on Wednesday.
2. The world's first mobile steam injection platform for offshore heavy oil thermal recovery hit the water Tuesday in east China's Shandong. The platform can simultaneously supply over 300℃ high-pressure steam to up to 6 oil wells, making it highly efficient and cost-effective.
3. China strongly objects to the US proposal to restrict the use of Chinese connected vehicles and their software and hardware in the US, a Ministry of Commerce spokesperson said Wed, noting the proposal smears the Chinese vehicles under the pretext of national security and is one of the US actions that targeted Chinese automobiles in recent years, along with tariff hikes, procurement restrictions and discriminatory subsidy policies.

8. China National Building Material Group and Saudi Aramco yesterday signed a five-year deal to explore new opportunities in advanced materials and industrial development, including the possible establishment of manufacturing facilities in Saudi Arabia.
9. General Motors' China joint venture SAIC-GM and power battery giant CATL have jointly launched the fastest-charging electric vehicle battery to date, as carmakers scramble to speed up charging to be more competitive. The companies have jointly developed a battery based on lithium iron phosphate (LFP) chemistry that supports 6C ultra-fast charging, SAIC-GM said, adding that it is the first of its kind in the industry.
10. China has launched an anti-discriminatory investigation against restrictive measures taken by Canada including additional tariffs on Chinese EVs, steel and aluminum products. This type of investigation usually takes three months to complete but could be extended under special circumstances, China’s commerce ministry said on Thursday.
