1. China's highest-altitude wind power project at an altitude above 5,000m has successfully generated electricity in SW China's Tibet after the 1st five 3.6-MW wind turbines were connected to grid. The plant can generate over 200 mln kWh of electricity a year after full operation.
2. In 2023 H1, China's lithium battery production exceeded 400GWh, up 43% YoY, and industry revenue reached RMB 600 billion. In the first half of 2023, China's energy storage battery output exceeded 75GWh, and the installed capacity of new energy vehicle power batteries was about 152GWh. The export of lithium battery products increased by 69% YoY, according to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology on Wednesday.
3. Shares of Farasis Energy Gan Zhou jumped after China's ninth-biggest battery manufacturer said Guangzhou Industrial Investment Holding Group, a state-owned enterprise, will become the controlling shareholder of the loss-making startup, aiming to significantly improve its financing capabilities and expansion, according to Yicai.
4. India's Directorate of Revenue Intelligence has alleged that BYD underpaid tax of INR730 mln (USD9 mln), according to Reuters. The DRI has not yet issued a final notice to the Chinese EV giant, which can challenge the findings. The two sides have not commented.
5. From January to June 2023, the global installed capacity of newly registered power batteries reached 304.3 GWh, up 50.1% YoY. CATL ranked No.1 with a market share of 36.8%, and its battery installation volume increased by 56.2% YoY to 112 GWh. BYD increased by 102.4% YoY to 47.7 GWh, with a market share of 15.7%, according to data from SNE Research today.

7. Sinopec's distributed photovoltaic power generation project with the largest installed capacity connected to the grid! On Aug. 1, the 25 MW project jointly built by Sinopec Star Petroleum and Sinopec Yangzi Petrochemical, was officially connected to the grid. After put into operation, it can generate 24.6875 mln kWh of green electricity per year, save 7554 tons of standard coal and reduce 18,800 tons of carbon dioxide per year.

Data from CINNO Research today shows that from Jan. to Jun. 2023, the investment of China's wind power and photovoltaic projects was RMB 2.5 trillion, accounting for 46.9% of the total; the investment of lithium batteries was RMB 1.2 trillion, accounting for 22.6%; The total investment in energy storage was RMB 950 billion, accounting for 18.1%; the total investment in hydrogen energy exceeded RMB 490 billion, accounting for 9.5%.
9. Sri Lanka's wind farm on Mannar Island, equipped with wind turbines which have been provided by CRRC, completed hoisting of the entire site recently. Boasting a total installed capacity of 15MW, the units were fully connected to the grid and have entered the commercial operation stage. The project also marks the first time that CRRC's wind power products have entered the Indian Ocean island nation.
10. Eve Energy (SZ: 300014) today released a performance forecast for the first half of 2023. It expects a net profit of RMB 2.04 billion to RMB 2.24 billion in 2023 H1, up 50% to 65% YoY.
