1. China's self-developed 16 MW offshore wind turbine, known for its highest capacity, largest rotor size, and lightest weight per MW worldwide, set a new world record for single-day power generation per unit Friday, achieving a daily output of 384,100 kWh off the coast of Fujian.
2. China aims to achieve auto sales of about 27 million units this year, up 3% from last year, according to a work plan unveiled on Sept. 2 by seven Chinese government departments, Xinhua reported. The NEV sales target is nine million, up 30% year on year.
3. The Audi-SAIC cooperation has been divided into two key stages, Audi China President Wen Zeyue told Yicai yesterday. First, Audi will transform SAIC's EV platform E1 and launch three products under it. Second, the pair will jointly develop a new platform to release EVs in 2027.
4. The localization of the supply chain of Tesla's Shanghai factory exceeded 95%, Tesla China President Wang Hao told Xinhua. The gigafactory has 360 local suppliers, 60 of which have also won cooperation deals with overseas counterparts, he added.
5. Tianchi pumped-storage power station in central China's Henan has started operation after passing a 15-day trial run. With a total installed capacity of 1.2 mln kW, the station is expected to generate 962 mln kWh of electricity a year and cut CO2 emissions by 210,000 tonnes.
6. Geely's EV brand ZEEKR Global announced at the IAA23 that it will start presales of its models 001 and X in Germany, priced from EUR59,990 (USD64,700) and EUR 44,990, respectively. Zeekr will open its first store in Germany in the first half of next year while beginning delivery.
7. China's Redway Power has developed a new lithium iron phosphate battery system with a nominal voltage of 12.8 V and a nominal capacity of 200 Ah.
8. TrinaTracker, Trina Solar's smart tracking solution provider, today announced the establishment of the company's smart tracking manufacturing plant in Salvador, Brazil. After being put into operation, TrinaTracker will have 10GW of its own production capacity worldwide. The Salvador factory is the third smart manufacturing factory of TrinaTracker in the world, which is engaged in the manufacture of tracking brackets and smart control systems. As of the first half of 2023, TrinaTracker has delivered over 3GW of smart tracking brackets to Latin America.
9. China Petroleum Engineering Co., today announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary CPECC received the letter of award for the ninth column of the Bab Oilfield Central Processing Station project from the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company Onshore Company of UAE. The project involves a contract value of approximately USD 325 mln (CNY 2.358 bln).
