1. At least three Chinese companies including state giant China National Offshore Oil Company (CNOOC) are evaluating Shell's Singapore assets and considering non-binding bids in coming weeks for the city-state's oldest refinery, according to Reuters citing several sources familiar with the matter. It was reported in August that Shell had hired Goldman Sachs to explore a potential sale of its refining and petrochemical plants in Singapore as part of a broader strategic review globally to become a lower-carbon operator.
2. Leapmotor's founder and CEO Zhu Jiangming and his spouse announced yesterday that they will not sell or reduce their share in the company in the next 10 years for the Chinese EV maker's steady and sustained development.
3. The world's first floating wind-fishing integration project completed installations at the Nanri Island Offshore Wind Farm in Putian, Fujian on Tuesday. After being put into operation, the project's annual power generation capacity will reach 16 million kWh, equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of more than 6,000 households. While producing clean electricity, it will also facilitate the cultivation of marine products.
4. Power China's branch in Argentina has signed an EPC contract for the Bode Comprehensive Water Conservancy Project with Catamarca Province in Argentina. The contract is worth approximately US$957 million (CNY 6.872 billion). Additionally, Powerchina International Group and Impair Energy Asia Co., Ltd. have signed a contract agreement for the 1000MW wind power project in Segon, Laos, with a contract value of approximately US$800 million (CNY 5.744 billion).
5. Chinese media outlet Cailianshe reported on Friday that Renault and CICC had reached a preliminary intention agreement to jointly invest to establish an investment fund to focus on the NEV industry chain, citing people familiar with the matter.
6. In September, China's vehicle exports increased 38.7% YoY, with export value increasing by 45.1%. Pure electric vehicles, passenger cars, buses and trucks ranked the top four in export volume. In the first three quarters, vehicle export volume surged 64.1% YoY, while export value surged 83.7%, according to statistics released by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers on Wednesday.
7. JA Solar recently unveiled its plans to invest in the development of photovoltaic, wind power and centralized energy storage power station projects. These projects include the fishery-solar complementary centralized photovoltaic power station project in Dongtai, Jiangsu with a capacity of 210MW, the 100MW wind power project in Zunyi City, Guizhou, and the 100MW/200MWh centralized energy storage project in Dingcheng District, Changde City. The total estimated investment cost is CNY 1.574 billion, which accounts for 5.72% of the company's latest audited net assets.
8. Unit 1 of the 1.5 GW Sirdarya combined-cycle gas turbine power plant in Uzbekistan — currently the largest power plant in Central Asia and built by CEEC — was connected to the grid on Oct 27. It will play a crucial role in meeting the peak electricity demand in winter.
9. China Three Group's 100MW integrated agricultural solar project has recently been connected to the grid. Located in Qingshui, Gansu, the project includes a 110KV substation and 15MW/30MWh energy storage to enhance grid stability.
10. Stellantis said today that the firm's ex-COO for China Grégoire Olivier will lead a newly created liaison office of Leapmotor, reporting to Stellantis' CEO Carlos Tavares. Olivier will also serve as a board member of Leapmotor to solidify the strategic partnership.
