1. On May 11th, the global photovoltaic giant LONGi announced that it has formally reached a patent cross-licensing with Hanwha Solutions Corporation. Both parties will have the right to legally use the relevant patented technology worldwide.
2. On Thursday, JinkoSolar announced that it will launch the first energy storage project in Central Asia. The project will locate in Tashkent State University in Uzbekistan. The 135 kWh energy storage system has been successfully delivered to the capital of Uzbekistan.
3. Hubei Energy Group Co., Ltd. announced on Tue that it planned to issue convertible bonds to raise no more than RMB6 billion yuan, which will be used for the construction of new energy projects such as wind power.
4. Recently, the first phase of the 330 kV Energy Storage Power Station in Gansu, with the highest voltage level in China, was put into operation. The project was designed by Energy China with an investment of RMB2.3 billion.
5. On May 11th, according to China Association of Automobile Manufacturers(CAAM), the production and sales of NEVs in China reached 640,000 and 636,000 in April, respectively, and the market share reached 29.5%. From January to April, the production and sales of new energy vehicles totaled 2.291 million and 2.222 million units, up 42.8% YoY, and the market share reached 27%.

The Global Polysilicon Marker (GPM), the OPIS benchmark assessment for polysilicon manufactured outside China, declined for a fifth week running to $35.789 per kilogram (kg) on May 9, edging 0.12% lower on-week. The fundamentals of scant deals and limited availability continue to govern the market. A source who had concluded a recent transaction confirmed that it had no transactions into China at the moment with demand only coming from outside of China.
7. Recently, two expansion projects of State Grid's holding company in Brazil, the 440 kV Primavera substation and the 345 kV Padre Fialho substation, have been completed and put into operation.
8. Electric carmaker Tesla will recall over 1.1 million vehicles in China from May 29 due to software issues, China's top quality watchdog has said.
9. Storing renewables with compressed CO2, combined heating and power unit: A Chinese research group has combined compressed CO2 with combined heating and power (CHP) units for renewable energy storage.
10. FuturaSun from Italy has signed a strategic agreement with the city of Huai'an, in the Chinese province of Jiangsu, for the construction of a 10 GW solar cell factory. The project involves the construction of a 266,000-square-meter gigafactory.
