1. China will soon publish a plan to build and implement a unified carbon footprint management system, marking another step forward in the country's green drive, and accelerate research related to carbon accounting methods for key products such as electricity, coal, and fuel oil.
2.. Shell Plc is preparing to cut staff from its offshore wind business as CEO Wael Sawan moves the company away from the capital-intensive renewable energy sector. The British oil major is set to begin the layoffs within months, mainly in Europe, according to Bloomberg.
3. A Chinese-made flying car recently completed its maiden flight in S China's Shenzhen at 30m above the city's Central Business District. The unmanned aerial vehicle Xpeng X2 has carried out nearly 6,000 test flights in various scenarios including in the city, sea and desert.
4. Asia's imports of crude oil rose to the highest in 12 months in May, with the strength being driven by India as the region's 2nd-biggest buyer is on track to see record arrivals. The world's top crude importing region is expected to have arrivals of 27.81 million bpd, up from 26.89 million bpd in April, according to LSEG Oil Research. Imports by China, the world's biggest crude importer, continued to trend weaker, with May arrivals slated at 10.72 million bpd, down from 10.93 million bpd in April, and the lowest on a per day basis since January.

Toyota Motor's April global sales and production fell from a year earlier, hurt by an intense price war in China and a decline in Japan after a production stoppage of some models and a safety test scandal at its small car unit. Global sales fell 0.5% in April, as a 27% slump in China - the world's biggest auto market - and a 14% drop in Japan offset double-digit growth in the U.S. and Europe. Toyota said its China sales fell even as it held promotional events at stores across the country.

10. BYD's first Saudi Arabian store opened in the country's capital, Riyadh, on May 28 in the heart of the Al Ghader district, the Chinese new energy vehicle (NEV) maker announced today on Weibo. The first BYD store in Saudi Arabia was built by local distributor Al-Futtaim Electric Mobility Company and includes a showroom, discovery center and service center.
