1. China's BYD launched its third electric vehicle in Japan, it said on Tuesday, a sedan that will be its most expensive model so far in a market where consumers have long favoured domestic brands. The Shenzhen-based automaker said it had started taking orders for its Seal EV in Japan from Tuesday, setting the suggested retail pricing for the rear-wheel-drive version of the vehicle in the country at 5.28 million yen ($33,111.75).
2. China appears to have taken advantage of low prices in the spot market so far in 2024 to boost the amount of gas in storage, absorbing some of the extra fuel that would otherwise have been sent to Europe. But as storage facilities fill and spot prices rise, the intake is likely to taper over the summer, redirecting more liquefied natural gas (LNG) cargoes to Europe and accelerating the fill rate at the other end of Eurasia.
3. China's Ganfeng and two of its units aiming to develop a lithium project in Mexico registered an arbitration case against the Mexican government over the mining concession, according to the World Bank's dispute settlement center. The post by the lender's International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes on its website was dated Friday, and lists the case, filed by Ganfeng International Trading, Bacanora Lithium and Sonora Lithium, as pending.

7. China on Tuesday urged the European Union to revoke sanctions on Chinese companies for what it believes is supporting Russia's war in Ukraine. China always opposes unilateral sanctions, and has made solemn representations to the EU side, spokesperson Mao Ning told a press conference.
8. On June 24, Chinese electric vehicle maker NIO and FAW Group's premium passenger car brand Hongqi jointly announced a collaboration to integrate their charging networks. This marks the first project following the strategic partnership agreement between NIO and FAW Group, aimed at providing more convenient services for their users.

On June 24, the water-related construction phase of the CSSC Haizhuang Xiangshan Large-scale Offshore Wind Power Equipment Industrial Park in Ningbo officially kicked off, set to span the next 8 months. The colossal 5,000-ton dock is poised to become the largest offshore wind power supporting dock in East China once completed.

CATL has made progress in its electric manned aircraft partnership project, which is expected to support a range of about 2,000 to 3,000 kilometers by 2027-2028, the battery maker's chairman Robin Zeng said. Zeng made the remarks at the 15th World Economic Forum Annual Meeting of the New Champions, also known as the Summer Davos Forum, which kicked off Tuesday in Dalian, the first time the company has revealed information about the range of its electric aircraft, according to a report in China Daily.
