1. On May 24, JinkoSolar announced that the company planned to build an integrated large base project with an annual output of 56GW in Shanxi, with a total investment of RMB56 billion($7.97 billion). It claims that it is the world's first "super-integrated" solar plant including silicon wafers, cells, and modules, and it will also be the industry's largest N-type integrated production base.
2. On May 25, EVE Lithium announced that it issued convertible bonds to raise funds for the implementation of the "23GWh cylindrical lithium iron phosphate energy storage power battery project" and the "21GWh large cylindrical passenger car power battery project".
3. Green hydrogen has become crucial in hydrogen industry development as a way to build up a low-carbon, sustainable future, said an expert at World Hydrogen Technology Convention 2023 on Tuesday. By the end of 2022, the number of fuel cell vehicles in the world had reached 67,000, up 36% YoY. Hydrogen energy technology R&D and industrial development have entered a new stage of rapid development, said Wan Gang, chairman of the China Association for Science and Technology.
4. China’s Eging has unveiled a new line of bifacial TOPCon solar panels based on n-type wafers and 182 mm cells. The modules have a temperature coefficient of -0.30% and efficiencies ranging from 21.67% to 22.45%.
5. China's scientists developed highly flexible paper-thin solar cell, which has a bending radius of 5mm&a thickness of 60mm, based on crystalline silicon wafer with blunted edges. The tech enables commercial production of high efficiency (>24%) large solar cells of over 240cm2.
6. Power Construction Corporation of China announced this week that the Upper Marsyangdi A hydropower project surpassed 100 million kWh of annual power generation in Nepal.
7. On May 26, according to Cailian Press, Indonesia and BYD signed a memorandum of understanding to explore investment potential.
8. On May 25, JA Solar and CATL signed strategic partnership agreement on SNEC 2023. According to the agreement, the two sides will deepen business cooperation and jointly develop PV market, which contributes to the sustainable development of the PV industry.
9. At the SNEC 2023 exhibition, photovoltaic companies generally released new technology products such as TOPCon, HJT, HPBC, and perovskite, and most of these products adopted the N-type technology route.
10. Recently, construction of the 12,000-tonne offshore oil&gas platform for Bozhong 19-6 gas field was completed in Qingdao. With an annual oil&gas processing capacity of over 5 mln tonnes, the platform will provide clean energy and chemical products upon operation by year end.
