1. Ranking first in the world! According to official data on June 18, as of now, the cumulative power generation of SW China's Sichuan Province has exceeded 600 million kilowatts.
2. China's 2nd 10,000-meter scientific exploration well, Chuanke-1, was drilled in SW China's Sichuan by CNPC on Thursday. With a depth of 10,520 meters, it follows China's 1st 10,000-meter scientific exploration well, Shendi Take-1 on May 30. They will greatly advance deep underground scientific exploration.
3. China will tighten its regulation of batteries and portable power banks to ban uncertified products in Aug. 2024. Unauthorized battery packs are not allowed to exit factories, be sold, exported, or used in 12 months whereas the certification system will already be adopted on Aug. 1, the State Administration for Market Regulation announced recently.
4. SAIC responded on Thursday to the rumors that it has reached a consensus with Audi that the two parties will cooperate to accelerate the development of electric vehicles due to the Chinese auto market is undergoing unprecedented transformation.
5. Ganfeng Lithium announced on Thu. that its subsidiary signed an agreement with the Tumote Zuoqi Gov., Inner Mongolia, to invest in a lithium battery production project with two phases. Phase I will build a 10-GWh lithium battery project with a planned investment of no more than RMB 6 bln.
6. There are currently over 40GW of Chinese-made solar modules in storage across Europe with a cumulative value of around €7 billion (US$7.8 billion), according to data from research firm Rystad Energy.
7. A fleet of 80 hydrogen-powered buses will shuttle athletes and venue workers around during the upcoming 31st International University Sports Federation Summer World University Games in SW China's Sichuan province, according to its organizers.

Chinese professor Xuanhua Li's team from Nano Energy Materials, School of Materials Science and Engineering, Northwestern Polytechnical University reported on Science Magazine on July 20 that in situ photocatalytically enhanced thermogalvanic cells for electricity and hydrogen production, which solved a long-term problem that high-performance thermogalvanic cells' effectiveness is limited by the low concentration difference of redox ions.
9. Inner Mongolia Tongwei Silicon Energy Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Tongwei Group's Sichuan Yongxiang Company, launched a 200,000-ton high-purity crystalline silicon project on Thursday in Baotou, Inner Mongolia. The total investment of the project is over RMB 10 billion, and it is planned to build a 5G factory with the largest single scale in the world that is intelligent, smart, and digital.
10. According to TCL Zhonghuan, on July 20, the cumulative shipment of its 210mm wafers exceeded 100GW. And by the end of 2023, TCL Zhonghuan's silicon wafer production capacity will reach 180GW.
11. The Fuxing Intelligent EMU dedicated to serving the 19th Hangzhou Asian Games rolled off the assembly line in CRRC on July 21. The EMU is eco-friendly, intelligent, and comfortable. During the Asian Games, the EMU will connect the five Asian Games co-host cities, including Hangzhou and Ningbo, to provide efficient transport services for the event.
