1. Chinese auto giant Geely Holding Group has launched a high-end intelligent car brand called Ji Yue with internet giant Baidu, following up on the partnership marque Jidu.
2. Nio's self-developed chips will go into mass production in the coming year or two, Bai Jian, VP of the Chinese EV maker's chip-making arm said via social media. The circuit and structure of NIO's domain controller are all self-designed and produced by the foundries, he added.
3. The first pumped storage power station in NW China's Xinjiang, the Fukang Pumped Storage Power Station undertaken by State Grid Xinyuan Group, completed the main construction Tuesday. With an investment of CNY 8.368 bln, its installed capacity will be 1.2 mln kW. The planned annual power generation is 2.41 bln kWh, and the annual pumping power is 3.213 bln kWh.
4. Changan Automobile, China's 4th largest electric vehicle manufacturer, has set a target of manufacturing 100,000 EVs in Thailand per year, both for the domestic market and export to countries with a right-hand drive such as Australia, New Zealand, the UK, and South Africa, according to the Board of Investment of Thailand (BOI) on Tuesday.
5. Northeast Thailand's first refined oil project was put into operation on Tuesday, with an annual oil transportation capacity of 6 million tonnes. The Chinese-built project has 342 km of pipeline and will help improve the supply of refined oil in the country.
6. Chinese battery giant CATL has unveiled its latest product that aims to solve electric vehicles' charging and range limitations. The battery, dubbed Shenxing or “god-like movement”, is able to refuel up to 400km (250 miles) of range in 10 minutes, Gao Han, CTO of CATL's EV division, said at a launch briefing on Wednesday.
7. China's largest offshore shore power application project has completed the installation as four electrical power platforms were successfully hoisted, its operator said Tuesday. The 520-MW project is expected to reduce CO2 emissions by 1 million tonnes annually upon operation.
8. China Datang Corp. Renewable Power (HK: 01798) announced on Tue. that according to the company's preliminary statistics, in July 2023, the group completed a power generation of 2.172 mln MWh on the basis of consolidated statements, up 33.17% YoY from 2022. Among them, wind power generation was 1.9457 mln MWh, up 32.65% YoY; photovoltaic power generation was 226,200 MWh, up 37.76% YoY.
9. Barmosen Solar Photovoltaic Park in Denmark is a 137.3MW solar farm constructed by Chinese panel maker CHINT Solar. The Chinese company's advantages in new energy development will help Denmark and other European countries achieve green transformation and sustainable development, said the project construction manager Mustafa.
10. TITAN Wind (SZ: 002531) in S China's Suzhou province, announced on Tuesday that the company decided to carry out the construction project of a 500,000-ton wind power offshore base in Germany and build a new offshore wind power component production base in Cuxhaven, Germany.
