1. The photovoltaic power project in the Tarim Oilfield of NW China's Xinjiang has generated over 105 mln kWh of green electricity so far this year, said its operator on Saturday. The green energy generated is equivalent to 22,200 tonnes of standard oil, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 70,500 tonnes, according to CNPC.
2. The International Research Center of Big Data for Sustainable Development Goals has released the world's first atlas of urban nighttime light remote-sensing data, providing support for the research on urban sustainable development.
3. Myanmar Minister of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations Kan Zaw revealed to Sputnik on Monday that Myanmar is paying for Russian petroleum products in yuan, after adding that both Myanmar and Russia are cooking up an agreement on the mutual conversion of national currencies.
4. According to the China Automobile Association, the production and sales of new energy vehicles in China for August of this year were 843,000 and 846,000 respectively, marking a YoY increase of 22% and 27% respectively. Furthermore, NEVs accounted for 32.8% of the entire market share.
5. NW China's Gansu on Sunday successfully completed the first grid connection adaptability test for an energy storage power station. The province's total installed capacity of new energy has surpassed 40 million kW, boasting the country's 2nd-largest proportion of new energy.
6. Southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region has achieved overall carbon neutrality, said Yan Jinhai, head of the regional government, during a forum opened Sunday on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau ecosystem.
7. Chinese battery manufacturer Gotion High-tech, will establish a $2 billion gigafactory in Illinois and create 2,600 job opportunities for state residents. The factory will produce lithium-ion battery cells, battery packs, and energy storage systems and will receive state incentives of $536 million, as well as $213 million in tax benefits over 30 years.
8. SPIC Solar, a unit of State Power Investment Corp. (SPIC), has introduced its inaugural heterojunction solar panel in Wenzhou, Zhejiang province. This move follows SPIC's CNY 6 billion investment in the new heterojunction solar module facility last January. Alongside heterojunction panels, SPIC Solar manufactures IBC panels and its new TBC product at its manufacturing facilities in Xining, Qinghai Province, and Xi'an, Shaanxi province.
9. Robotechnik, a German PV production equipment manufacturer, has agreed to supply module maker Trina Solar with 40 GW of production lines. Trina said it will use the lines at its factories in Huaian, Yangzhou, Dongtai, and Tinghu, which are all in Jiangsu province. Robotechnik said the contract is worth CNY 358 mln ($49.7 mln).
10. Aito, the EV brand of Huawei and Seres, will release and start deliveries of its new five-seater M7 SUV tomorrow, Huawei said today, adding that the M9 may be unveiled in the fourth quarter. Aito delivered 5,018 vehicles in August, down 77.4% from a year ago.
