1. Breaking record! On Dec 21, the world's first 16MW offshore wind turbine produced a daily output of 387.2MWh at CTG's Pingtan Offshore Wind Farm. It operated at full power for 24 hours, maintaining a 99% utilization rate over 1809 consecutive hours.
2. According to the latest data, in November 2023, wind power output in China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region reached 14.4 billion kWh, ranking 1st in the country, followed by Hebei and Jiangsu Province, with outputs of 6.95 billion kWh and 5.81 billion kWh respectively.
3. On December 27, according to PetroChina, its Daqing Oilfield was officially connected to the Eastern Route of the China-Russia East Route Natural Gas Pipeline.
4. CATL released a condensed battery and is developing a civilian electric manned aircraft project, implementing aviation-grade standards and tests to meet aviation-grade safety and quality. The company will also launch a vehicle-grade application version of the condensed battery.
5. China's NEV sales may grow 40% in 2024 from this year to exceed 13 million units with a market share over 40%, Zhang Yongwei, vice chairman of the China EV100, said today. Half of Russia's oil and petroleum exports in 2023 will have gone to China while India's share has risen in two years to 40%, Russia's state news agencies cited Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak as saying in remarks published on Wednesday. "The main partners in the current situation are China, whose share has grown to approximately 45-50%, and, of course, India," said Novak, who is in charge of Russia's energy sector.
8. Tesla is reportedly planning to launch an improved version of its Model Y at the Shanghai factory in mid-2024, according to reports on December 27. However, Tesla China denied the claim. The Model Y is Tesla's top-selling model in China. The Shanghai factory has delivered over 854,000 vehicles in the first 11 months of this year, up over 30% YoY according to the Passenger Car Association.
9. JAC Motors has produced the world's first mass-produced sodium battery vehicle. It uses HiNa Battery's sodium-ion cylindrical batteries and JAC Motors' unique honeycomb battery structure. This marks the first industrialization of sodium-ion batteries in the global automotive industry.
10. China's Qingdao Port Automated Terminal (Phase III) in Shandong Province became operational on December 27. This is China's first domestically built and fully independent automated terminal, marking a significant breakthrough in the field of port construction in the country.
11. China's largest single-site floating PV power station has been fully connected to the grid in Fuyang, east China's Anhui. The 650,000-kW power station covers a water area equivalent to 1,300 football pitches and can generate 700 million kWh of green energy annually.
