1. China's 1st independently-developed ultra-deepwater gas field, Deep Sea No.1, started shipment of a 100.8-m-high deepwater jacket Wed, heading for its phase II project in South China Sea. The 6,605-t structure equals the weight of 4,400+ cars and can work at 88.3m under the sea.
2. SAIC GM Wuling on Thursday officially released the Wuling Red No. 1 battery, which is the thinnest commercial vehicle battery in the industry. It has already begun mass production and will be first installed on Wuling's upcoming new energy commercial vehicles.
3. China's National Energy Administration said Thur that it will continue to improve the country's network of NEV charging facilities to meet the growing demand for electric cars. The number of NEV charging facilities in China grew 65% YOY, reaching 8.6 million by the end of 2023.

7. Chinese oil and gas producer CNOOC Ltd vows to continue increasing reserves and production in 2024, as global oil and gas demands steadily grow, the company said on Thursday. The company's net production target for 2024 is 700 million to 720 million barrels of oil equivalent (BOE), of which production from China and overseas accounts for approximately 69% and 31% respectively, it said.
8. Chinese automotive glass giant Fuyao Glass Industry Group has unveiled its second capacity expansion plan in less than one month, given the rapid growth of the local new energy vehicle industry. Fuyao Glass will invest a total of CNY5.8 billion (USD804 million) to build a new plant with an annual production capacity of 2,610 million square meters of automotive glass and two high-quality float glass production lines in Hefei, China's eastern Anhui province, the Fuqing-based company announced yesterday, without revealing the production capacity of the float glass production facility.
9. Porsche's all-electric Macan EV is powered by a 100-kWh battery pack from Chinese power cell giant CATL and has a WLTP range of up to more than 780 km in the city, local media outlet Cailian said in a report today.
10. Chenggong district in Kunming has shown vitality and potential in the NEV market in recent years, with well-established charging and swapping infrastructure. It boasts 124 charging stations, 2,860 piles, and 6 battery-swapping spots within a 5-km radius.
