1. Delingha 50-MW solar thermal power plant, one of the first national demonstration solar thermal power stations in NW China's Qinghai, has generated a record 119.34 mln kWh of electricity in Jan-Oct 2023, bringing its total power output to 540.8 mln kWh since its operation in 2019.
2. China will launch carbon-peaking pilot projects in 100 cities and zones nationwide to solve bottlenecks constraining the country's green and low-carbon development and explore paths toward carbon-peaking for different areas, according to a plan unveiled Monday.
3. Audi's first pure electric model production base in China is expected to complete base construction and equipment installation by the end of the year, the German automaker announced during the ongoing CIIE. The Q6 e-tron will be produced at Audi FAW NEV in Changchun, Jilin.
4. China State Shipbuilding Corporation's Guangzhou unit announced yesterday that its 7,000-car equivalent unit dual fuel pure car truck carrier project for BYD started construction. The project plans to build two green, intelligent, and efficient car transport ships.
5. Saudi Aramco today reported a 23% fall in 2023Q3 net profit, marginally beating analyst's estimates, on lower crude oil prices and volumes sold. Net profit declined to $32.6 billion for the quarter to Sept. 30 from $42.4 billion a year earlier. Analysts had expected a net profit of $31.8 billion in the third quarter, according to the median estimate from 12 analysts.
6. Tesla will raise the price of its RWD and Long Range versions of the China-made Model Y after hiking the price of its Model Y High Performance by CNY14,000 (USD1,923) last month, The Paper reported. Model Y is Tesla Asia's best-selling model in China.
7. According to a recent report by 36Kr, Li Auto is expected to sell more than 800,000 units in 2024, which is an impressive growth rate considering the predicted sales volume of 380,000 units this year. Meanwhile, NIO has forecasted sales of over 230,000 vehicles in 2024, while Xpeng Motors has estimated sales of over 280,000 vehicles.
8. An over 10-story-high, nearly 15,000-tonne platform combining oil and gas production with shore power facilities, the first of its kind in Asia, was installed in the offshore Chengbei Oilfield. It can help cut carbon emissions by using clean energy electricity generated on shore.
9. On November 7, China National Petroleum Corporation and Siemens Energy signed a purchase intention agreement at the 6th China International Import Expo, covering cooperation in various fields such as industrial water treatment, compressors, and steam turbines.
10. China National Offshore Oil Corp made a record in the amount of purchases during the ongoing 6th China International Import Expo held in Shanghai on Monday, with accumulated contract value over the past six years surpassing $60 billion.
