1. As of Thursday, the Yalong River basin hydro-wind-photovoltaic multi-energy power base in China's Sichuan has generated over 1 trillion kWh of electricity since it began operating its first power station in 1998, according to Yalong River Hydropower Development Company, Ltd.

2. The US trade policy regulator is mulling initiating a 301 investigation into China's shipbuilding industry, which could potentially impact new ship orders and freight forwarding, according to a senior partner of global law firm Dentons' trade remedies legal team.

6. Recently, the 1st unit of the Yangqu Hydropower Station in Qinghai Province has finally entered the assembly phase. The total installed capacity is 1.2 million kW, with an average annual generating capacity of 4.732 billion kWh, equivalent to saving about 1.66 million tons of standard coal and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 3.69096 million tons.

7. The Chinese government has quietly asked electric vehicle makers from BYD Co. to Geely Automobile Holdings Ltd. to sharply increase their purchases from local auto chipmakers, part of a campaign to reduce reliance on Western imports and boost China's domestic semiconductor industry, Bloomberg reported today.

JA Solar, a leading manufacturer of high-performance photovoltaic products, signed PV module supply memorandum of understanding (MOU) agreements with Pakistani firms Garibsons, SM Solar, and Wasiq Traders, respectively, which totaled a capacity of 600MW. 10. Chinese new energy vehicle startup Nio and Chinese power battery giant Contemporary Amperex Technology have partnered to jointly research and develop electric vehicle batteries with longer lifespans for battery swapping.
