1. Guangzhou Tinci Materials Technology Co., Ltd. announced on Tuesday that the company intends to establish a wholly-owned Moroccan management company and related entity companies through its wholly-owned Singapore subsidiary to engage in the production and sales of lithium-ion battery materials. More than 280 million US dollars, the source of funds is its own funds.
2. In the first half of 2023, at least 8 Chinese power battery manufacturers have built new production bases oversea, with a new production capacity exceeding 200GWh. China's power battery is accelerating into a new stage of globalization, according to GASGOO's incomplete statistics.
3. Tyler Li, head of BYD's Brazilian subsidiary, said BYD will have its factory in Brazil. The company is negotiating with local authorities in Bahia state and federal government officials about building a plant there. The plant has an annual production capacity of about 150,000 vehicles, Tyler Li said, according to Bloomberg on Thursday.

On June 28, according to China Renewable Energy Development Report 2022, China's newly installed capacity of renewable energy in 2022 was 152 million kW, accounting for 76.2% of the newly installed power generation capacity in China. The installed capacity of renewable energy has increased to 47.3% of the total installed capacity of power generation; the annual power generation is 2.7 trillion kWh, accounting for 31.6% of the electricity consumption of the whole society. Among them, the annual power generation of wind power and photovoltaic power exceeded 1 trillion kWh for the first time, which is close to the domestic electricity consumption of urban and rural residents.
5. Shanghai Electric refuted a rumor claiming it was scammed CNY8.8 billion in India and sufferd a CNY2.1 billion compensation. The Chinese power equipment maker said it received 90% of the USD1.3 billion payment for a power station in India and won a lawsuit to get the remaining.
6. On June 29, Sinopec's first hydrogen refueling station in Inner Mongolia, the Wuhai Weiqi Street Hydrogen Refueling Station of Inner Mongolia Petroleum Branch, was officially put into operation. The hydrogen refueling station has a daily refueling capacity of 300 kg, which can refuel 15 hydrogen fuel cell buses in Wuhai City.
7. The share of Chinese brands in West Europe’s new energy vehicle market is set to rise from 6 percent last year to 9 percent this year, according to a report released today by consulting agency TrendForce.
8. China's BYD has partnered with Jamaican car dealer ATL Automotive Group to enter the electric vehicle market of the Caribbean island nation and those of its neighbors. The cooperation will cover 10 Caribbean nations, to provide consumers with new energy vehicles and after-sales services, BYD announced yesterday, citing an agreement signed by the pair in Kingston on June 26.
9. China will strive to relaunch the China Certified Emission Reduction program, a voluntary mechanism in which participants can earn carbon credits to trade, as soon as possible this year. The basic infrastructure required to launch the program has been largely completed, said Liu Youbin, spokesman of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, in a news conference on Thursday.
