1. The Civil Aviation Authority of China launched the country's first technical center for sustainable aviation fuel that focuses on standard setting and product research, a report showed on Tuesday. The new center, based in  Chengdu, will take the lead in mapping out industry policy and setting up standards for products and quality control, according to two SAF industry executives with direct knowledge of the launch.

2. A made-in-China floating wind power platform with the world's largest capacity of 16.6 MW finished installation Wed in S China's Guangzhou. First to adopt a dual-turbine design among its kind, it can yield 54 mln kWh of power to meet the yearly demand of 30,000 three-person households.

3. Chinese researchers have recently developed a cost-effective sulfide solid electrolyte with low density and excellent anode compatibility, marking a breakthrough in the research of solid-state batteries, according to Journal Angewandte Chemie International Edition.

5. China's BYD opened an electric vehicle plant in Thailand on Thursday, the automaker's first factory in Southeast Asia, a fast-growing regional EV market where it has become the dominant player."Thailand has a clear EV vision and is entering a new era of auto manufacturing," BYD CEO and President Wang Chuanfu said at the opening ceremony. "We will bring technology from China to Thailand."

6. China's 1st self-developed 15-MW heavy-duty gas turbine, G15, rolled off the production line Thur in SW China's Sichuan. The G15 has a thermal efficiency of up to 35% and can generate 22,000 kWh of electricity in a 1-hr combined cycle to meet the daily demand of 2,500 households.

7. A total of 19 unmanned buses began trial operation recently in Mianyang, southwest China's Sichuan, offering free-ticket rides to the public. The city also deploys other sorts of unmanned vehicles for delivery, retail, street sweeping, and city patrol. 

8. Germany's cabinet blocked the planned sale of Volkswagen unit MAN Energy Solutions' gas turbine business to a Chinese company on Wednesday, with ministers citing security reasons. The decision comes amid rising trade tensions between the EU and China. Germany's economy ministry can review and stop transactions deemed to have national security implications, and Berlin and the EU are trying to reduce risks from economic ties with Beijing.

10. China and Europe held several rounds of technical talks over tariffs on Chinese electric cars that the European Commission is set to confirm on Thursday, China's commerce ministry said at a regular news conference. "To date, a number of consultations have been held at the technical level between China and the European Union," He Yadong, a ministry spokesperson, said. "There is still a four-month window before arbitration, and we hope that the European and Chinese sides will move in the same direction, show sincerity, and push forward with the consultation process as soon as possible," he added.
