1. Chinese electric vehicle maker Xpeng priced the first model of its budget sub-brand MONA at $16,813 on Tuesday, wedging into the mainstream but highly competitive segment of the world's largest auto market. The MONA M03 electric hatchback coupe is Xpeng's most affordable model and will compete with other EVs priced in the 100,000-150,000 yuan ($14,035-$21,052) range, which accounts for a third of total car sales in China.
2. Xpeng is looking for a manufacturing site in Europe, making it the latest Chinese electric-vehicle maker seeking to mitigate the impact of import tariffs by building its cars in the region, CEO He Xiaopeng said in an interview with Bloomberg.

Stella Li, the Executive Vice President of BYD, stated on Monday that the company's sales in overseas markets will make up a larger share of its global sales in the future, with nearly half of its sales potentially coming from overseas. BYD's expected overseas sales for this year are 500,000 vehicles, with 270,000 vehicles sold in the first seven months, accounting for approximately 14% of its total sales.

Australia is positioned to meet strong demand from China for green iron, Fortescue said on Wednesday as it readies a pilot plant to begin production of the product using renewable energy next year. The world's fourth-largest iron ore miner will use green electricity from solar farms at its Christmas Creek operations in Western Australia to produce 1,500 tons per year of high purity green iron.

7. The Global Sustainable Transport Forum 2024 will be held in Beijing on Sept. 25 and 26, the Ministry of Transport said Wednesday. The forum, themed "Sustainable Transport: Logistics Connecting the World," aims to foster global cooperation and promote the development of a safe, convenient, efficient, green, economical, inclusive and resilient transport system, the ministry added.
