1. On May 26, the MySE10.X-23X onshore wind turbine independently developed by Mingyang Smart Energy rolled off the production line, breaking the onshore wind turbine record of the largest impeller diameter in the world.
2. On May 29, BYD denied rumours by stating that its DM-i model is a dual-motor series-parallel architecture based on an EV platform design. The engine can be started flexibly and fuel vapor can be desorbed freely. It has independently developed the fuel vapor emission control technology for atmospheric fuel tanks, which can meet the evaporative emission regulations and standards.
3. On May 28, Zhengqi Holdings' 20GW high-efficiency N-type cell intelligent manufacturing project started in Ma'anshan, China. Among them, the 1st phase invested RMB2.5 billion. According to forecasts, the annual output value of the 1st phase of reaching production capacity is RMB5 billion, and the annual green power can be increased by 7 billion kWh, saving 870,000 tons of standard coal and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 7 million tons.
4. According to Guangzhou Hydrogen Energy Industry Development Report (2022), Guangzhou's hydrogen production resources account for about 10% of the province's total, with an annual hydrogen production capacity of about 6,000 tons. As of August 2022, China has built 260 hydrogen refueling stations, distributed in 85 cities in 26 provincial-level administrative regions.
5. According to the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of China, 145 national water-saving cities have been built in China. The mode of water use has changed from extensive to intensive, and the effective utilization coefficient of farmland irrigation water has been greatly improved. In 2022, China's urban recycled water utilization reached 18 billion cubic meters, which is 4.6 times higher than that of 10 years ago.
6. China recorded an improving ecological environment and stable natural ecological situation in 2022, an annual report showed Monday, featuring: 125,034 species (63,886 kinds of animals and 39,188 plants); a total area of 1.1 million sqkm of national park candidate areas.
7. China-based Sofar has released PowerMaster, a fully integrated, modular utility-scale battery energy storage system. One version is equipped with 280 Ah LFP cells and has a capacity of 3.44 MWh, while the other features 329 Ah LFP battery cells with 3.93 MWh of storage capacity.
8. Yahua Industrial Group, a Chinese lithium supplier, said today that its mine in Zimbabwe will be developed in two phases, set to start production in September and March 2024. The mine will produce over 350,000 tons of lithium concentrate per year, creating over 1,500 jobs.
9. China's Semcorp, the world's leading supplier of a key component in electric vehicle batteries, is poised to start production overseas with a goal of raising its global market share to 50% by 2025. The factory in Hungary is near completion and slated to start operations within the year, Semcorp said. The company, formally known as Yunnan Energy New Material, has invested about 340 million euros ($365 million) in the facility.
10. On May 23, the highest load in Sanya, China, exceeded 1 million kW for the first time. The daily power supply reached 21.7142 million kWh, the third record high this year, an increase of 50.07% compared with the same period last year.
