1. World's largest hydropower project Three Gorges Dam saw the total cargo throughput via its ship locks surpass 1.91 bln tonnes over the past two decades, and over 993,000 ships with about 12.24 mln passengers passed through the ship locks in the same period, the latest data showed.
2. Recently, the Mingyang Yangjiang Qingzhou IV Offshore Wind Farm Project, located in Guangdong, completed the installation of the first 12 MW offshore wind turbine in China. This project is currently the offshore wind power project with the deepest construction water area and the longest offshore distance among the wind farms under construction in China. The total installed capacity of the project is 500 MW.
3. SinoHytec, a Chinese leading hydrogen fuel cell engine manufacturer, recently reached a strategic cooperation with TAM-EUROPE D.O.O., a European commercial vehicle company. The two parties will jointly promote the development of the hydrogen fuel cell vehicle market by first using the airport shuttle bus as the application scenario.
4. SW China's first large-scale photovoltaic module production base, Tongwei Solar (Module) Jintang Base located in Sichuan, is expected to be put into production within this year.
5. The China-built Karot Hydropower Project in Pakistan is playing a vital role in ensuring the country's energy security and promoting sustainable and green development, said Pakistani parliamentarians. Under the framework of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), the power plant – located on the Jhelum River in Pakistan's Punjab Province – has been constructed by the China Three Gorges Corporation (CTG).
6. JinkoSolar has announced a $7.87 billion plan to build a 56 GW PV factory in Shanxi province. The project will include monocrystalline rods, silicon wafers, solar cells, and PV module capacities. The factory will be completed in four phases over two years, with the first two phases set to start operations in 2024. JinkoSolar aims to reach a total production capacity of 75 GW of wafers, 75 GW of cells, and 90 GW of modules by the end of 2023.
7. Recently, Guangzhou Development Group Co., Ltd. announced that it has signed the Energy Storage Group Joint Venture Agreement with five companies, and plans to jointly establish Guangzhou Energy Storage Group. In recent years, the Guangdong provincial government has listed the new energy storage industry as one of the key development industries and provided policy guidance and support.
8. China will further boost the building of a high-quality charging infrastructure network to meet the rapid development of the country's new energy vehicles (NEVs), according to a guideline.
9. Saudi energy provider ACWA Power has signed an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract with China Energy Group Corporation (CEEC) for a 1.4GW solar project in Uzbekistan. According to CEEC, the solar project, in conjunction with a 1.2GW energy storage project in Uzbekistan, will “tremendously improve Uzbekistan’s green power supply capacity and new energy development level”.
10. Chinese solar cell manufacturer Aiko Solar has signed a 1.3GW supply agreement with German solar and energy storage wholesaler Memodo at Intersolar. Under the agreement, Memodo will distribute its N-type all-black contact modules throughout Europe.
