1. China will further stabilize and expand auto consumption by implementing a set of measures, including optimizing car purchase restrictions, encouraging trade-in of obsolete vehicles, adjusting NEV-related electricity prices, and providing more credit support, the NDRC said today.
2. BASF and Mingyang Group have formed a joint venture to build and run a wind farm off the coast of southern China, they said today. It is the first Chinese-German offshore wind energy project to encompass development, construction and operation, according to Yicai.
3. The launch of a giant offshore wind farm with the world's largest per-unit capacity in China marks a breakthrough in high-end wind turbine manufacturing and deep-sea offshore wind power construction capabilities, said industry analysts.
4. About 1.44 million charging piles for electric vehicles were added in the first half of 2023 in China, of which 351,000 are public charging piles. By the end of June, China had more than 6.6 million charging piles, according to National Development and Reform Commission.
5. Two U.S. House of Representatives committees said Friday they are investigating Ford Motor Co's partnership with Chinese battery company CATL, according to Reuters. Ford announced in February it is spending $3.5 billion to build a battery plant in Michigan using technology from CATL, the world's largest battery maker.

India has rejected Chinese automaker BYD's proposal to set up a $1 billion factory in India in partnership with Hyderabad-based Megha Engineering and Infrastructure Ltd, the Economic Times reported on Saturday. Reuters reported this month that BYD had submitted a $1 billion investment proposal to build electric cars and batteries in India in partnership with a local company.
7. Ranking the first worldwide for 10 consecutive years! China's total installed capacity of photovoltaic power has surpassed 470 mln kW. Photovoltaic power became the second largest power source in the country, with newly installed capacity reaching 78.42 mln kW in H1 2023.
8. Shares in Jiangsu Transimage Technology surged by the exchange-imposed daily limit today after the Chinese printed circuit board producer said that its sodium-ion battery subsidiary has been appointed supplier to a well-known German carmaker, according to Yicai.
9. China's GCL System Integration Tech recently stated that the funds raised by the company from specific targets was expected to be no more than RMB 5,799.00 mln, which will be used for projects: Wuhu GCL 20GW (Phase II 10GW) high-efficiency battery chip project; Shenghao New Energy Development (Xuzhou) Co., Ltd. annual production of 10GWh smart energy storage system project.
