1. Recently, the commencement ceremony of the localized manufacturing project of the Istanbul Metro Airport Line was held in Ankara, Türkiye. This is the first overseas unmanned subway project with a speed level of 120km/h undertaken by CRRC, also the first unmanned subway project in Türkiye.
2. Goldwind delivered a 1,600-tonne offshore wind installation vessel, utilizing the "transport+storage+lifting" integrated approach. It addresses high-capacity megawatt unit lifting challenges and enhances transportation and storage potential for larger installations.
3. The Cyprus LNG terminal project's FSRU "ETYFA PROMETHEAS" ship, managed by CNPC CPP, completed its debut 3-day sea trial mission. This accomplishment bridges the gap in domestic MOSS-type LNG-FSRU transformation.
4. The single-day electricity generation of six hydropower stations on China's longest river Yangtze, Wudongde, Baihetan, Xiluodu, Xiangjiaba, Three Gorges & Gezhouba exceeded 1 billion on Tue, the highest recorded in 2023, equivalent to cutting CO2 emissions by about 800,000 tonnes.
5. An offshore production platform for the first-phase development project of Bozhong 19-6, China's first 100-billion-m3 gas field in the Bohai Sea, completed construction in N China's Tianjin on Wednesday. Its modules will be shipped to the designated waters for installation.
6. The core module of China's Linglong One, the world's first commercial small nuclear reactor, was successfully installed on Thursday in south China's Hainan Province, marking a milestone node of the small modular reactor's installation.
7. Wang Chuanfu, the founder of BYD, was overcome with emotion when reminiscing on the 20-year journey taken by the Chinese car and battery giant to become the country’s best-selling NEV maker at an event held to commemorate the production of BYD’s five millionth electric car.
8. Data from the China Automobile Association showed today that in July 2023, the production and sales of NEVs in China reached 805,000 and 780,000, up 30.6% and 31.6% YoY, respectively, with a market share of 32.7%. Among them, domestic sales were 679,000 vehicles, down 6.9% MoM, and up 26% YoY; exports were 101,000 vehicles, up 29.5% MoM, and up 87% YoY.
9. According to the China Automotive Power Battery Industry Innovation Alliance today, in July 2023, China's power battery production totaled 61.0 GWh, up 28.9% YoY and up 1.5% MoM. Among them, the output of ternary batteries was 20.4GWh, accounting for 33.4% of the total, up 15.2% MoM and up 17.2% YoY; the output of lithium iron phosphate batteries was 40.5GWh, accounting for 66.4% of the total, down 4.1% MoM and up 35.6% YoY.
10. According to data from the China Energy Research Association launched today, it is estimated that the electricity consumption of China's whole society will reach 11.7 trillion kWh in 2030, and reach 13.5 trillion kWh in 2035. From 2020 to 2030, it is expected that the proportion of wind power and photovoltaic power generation will increase from 9.3% in 2020 to 22.5% in 2030; while the proportion of coal power will decrease from 61.3% in 2020 to 47.5% in 2030.
