1. Over 196,000 PV panels were laid out in the shape of a horse in the Kubuqi Desert, forming the world's largest solar panel display in Erdos, N China's Inner Mongolia where horses are an inseparable part of the people's lives.
2. Sungrow (SZ: 300274) today announced that it recently reached cooperation with Australia's ZEN Energy. The two sides signed a strategic agreement in the field of GPS grid connection in Australia, the technology of new energy grid construction, and solar storage projects.
3. Li Zhenguo, president of LONGi, said today that the company has achieved a conversion efficiency of 33.5% for crystalline silicon-perovskite laminated cells, and will strive to achieve mass production within five to seven years.
4. Asia's 1st cylindrical floating production, storage, and offloading (FPSO) facility completed the hull construction and is ready for integrated installation in Qingdao, E China's Shandong. The Chinese-developed FPSO device has a max oil storage capacity of 60,000 tonnes.
5. Haikou, the capital of China's southern Hainan province, will set an upper limit on fees paid to recharge electric vehicles after charging pile operators sharply hiked them. Charging fees must not exceed CNY0.65 (9 US cents) per kWh from Sept. 1, the Haikou government said in a notice yesterday.
6. As of June 30 this year, CRRC's two HXN6 hybrid locomotives have hauled a total of more than 11 million tons of cargo. They have saved 180 tons of fuel, reduced pollutant emissions by 6 tons, and reduced emissions by more than 560 tons.
7. China's Dongfeng Motor will start managing its three self-owned new energy vehicle brands Aeolus, Dongfeng eπ, and Dongfeng Nami together to enhance decision-making. The firm plans to invest CNY50 bln (USD6.9 bln) in the next three years to have all of its major self-developed passenger car brands only make NEVs next year and sell over one mln NEVs by 2025.
8. According to Shanghai Securities News, XPeng Motors refuted rumors today that the Chinese EV maker is mulling acquiring Italian luxury carmaker Maserati. Xpeng delivered 11,000 new cars in July 2023, up 28% MoM.
9. On August 17, Chongqing Three Gorges Water Conservancy and Electric Power released its semi-annual report for 2023. The operating income in 2023H1 was CNY 5.689 bln, up 9.11% YoY; the net profit attributable to shareholders of the parent company was CNY 31.2993 mln, down 88.87% YoY.
10. Tesla is accepting orders for its revamped Model 3 in China, according to Yicai today. A non-refundable deposit of CNY1,000 (USD136) is needed to book the latest version of the Model 3 and the launch will start in September or October, sales staff said.
