1. The world's largest clean energy corridor consisting of 6 mega hydropower stations on China's longest river Yangtze set a record high on Friday with its daily electricity production of 1.468 bln kWh, marking a daily power generation of over 1 bln kWh for 18 consecutive days.
2. Trina Solar recently extended its international footprint by producing 210mm monocrystalline silicon wafers in Vietnam. The first wafers rolled off the factory's production line in the city of Thai Nguyen. The factory will be able to produce 6.5 GW of wafers annually. With this new capacity, Trina Solar will have greater flexibility in delivering its products worldwide.
3. China's first large-scale lithium battery-energy storage station with multi-technology routes in S China's Foshan, Guangdong, has reached 60% of the construction. It is also the first battery energy storage project exceeding 100 MW in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. It is expected to be fully put into operation by the end of 2023 and can deliver 430 mln kWh of electricity to the Greater Bay Area every year, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by about 300,000 tons.
4. Irico New Energy says that its unaudited first-half results show revenue at CNY 1.28 bln ($176.65 mln), from CNY 1.09 bln a year earlier. However, it reported a net loss of CNY 147.5 mln, in contrast to a net income of CNY 61.1 mln in the first half of 2022. It said it is expanding photovoltaic glass capacity, enhancing strategic customer cooperation, and continuing efforts to reduce product costs.
5. Construction has started on a new mega photovoltaic power station in SW China's Sichuan Province. Located at an altitude of between 3,200 and 4,200 meters in Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, the Zhalashan photovoltaic power station will have an installed capacity of 1.17 mln kW, with an estimated average annual power generation of 2.15 bln kWh. With a total investment of more than 6 bln yuan (about $823 mln), the power station will be fully connected to the grid by 2025.
6. China's leading NEV manufacturer BYD said on Monday that its holding subsidiary has inked an acquisition framework agreement with the Singaporean subsidiary of U.S.-based firm Jabil Inc. to buy its manufacturing business in the Chinese cities of Wuxi and Chengdu, for 15.8 billion yuan (about 2.2 billion U.S. dollars).
7. Shares of Xpeng Motors soared after the Chinese new energy vehicle company said it would acquire HKD5.8 billion (USD744 million) of assets from ride-hailing platform Didi Global to launch another NEV brand called Mona.
8. Senior Technology Material, China’s leading supplier of battery separators, plans to spend as much as CNY5 billion (USD685.9 million) building a new production base for lithium-ion battery separators in Malaysia.
9. China's 1st super deep borehole for scientific exploration, Shendi Take-1, reached 6,000 m into the ground as of Sunday, over halfway of its planned depth of 11,100 m. The project is expected to be completed in 457 days since its start on May 30 in NW China's Tarim Basin.
10. Chinese automaker Seres recently signed a strategic deal with Bosch China to research and develop vehicle safety systems, advanced driver-assistance systems, and others. The pair will also cooperate on overseas market expansion.
