1. By 2050, nearly 1 million coal mine jobs will no longer exist at operating mines given the coal industry's foreseeable closures, according to the latest report launched by Global Energy Monitor in October. China's Shanxi province would shed the most jobs globally — 241,900 by 2050 , according to the report.
2. Recently, Sinopec launched its 1st EV charging business model "Power in Time" in HongKong, which can accommodate 24 EVs in parallel. It is a sign that Sinopec Hong Kong Company has begun its new energy transformation.
3. The Chinese-built containership MSC CHINA, with one of the world's largest capacities of 24,116 TEUs, was delivered in Shanghai on Mon. The 399.99-m-long & 61.5-m-wide ship is equipped with a bubble drag reduction system and can reduce CO2 emission by over 6,000 tonnes a year.
4. BYD and the Ministry of Investment, Industry, and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan have signed an investment agreement for the latter to provide policy support for the joint venture of BYD and Uzbek automotive group Uzavtosanoat JSC to manufacture NEVs in Uzbekistan, the Shenzhen-based company announced yesterday.
5. Nio users in China have completed over 30 million battery swaps as of yesterday, reducing total carbon dioxide emissions by 891,693 metric tons, the Chinese EV startup said. The firm has 1,937 battery swap stations across the country.

7. On Oct. 10, 2023, the National Development and Reform Commission of China announced that domestic gasoline and diesel prices (standard products) would be reduced by 85 yuan and 80 yuan per ton respectively, starting from 24:00 on the same day.
8. BAIC BluePark New Energy's NEV brand Arcfox said today it partnered with Abu Dhabi-based Bin Omeir Holding to co-explore the Emirati and Saudi markets. Bin Omeir will purchase 600 Arcfox vehicles as the first batch, according to the deal.
9. BMW Group today announced its total sales in the third quarter of 2023, which increased by 5.8% YoY. The company sold out 93,931 pure NEVs of BMW and MINI models in 2023Q3, up 79.6% YoY. The delivery volume of BMW EVs doubled compared with the same period last year.
10. The Ministry of Public Security of China recently released statistics indicating that as of the end of September 2023, the number of motor vehicles in the country had risen to 430 million. Out of these, 330 million were cars while 18.21 million were new energy vehicles.
