1. China has unveiled its 1st offshore floating photovoltaic verification base in E China's Yantai. The base, featuring multiple monitoring indexes incl. power generation capacity & anti-corrosion ability, aims to support the country's expanding offshore solar power industry.
2. China Three Gorges Corporation's Baihetan Hydropower project has passed the safety assessment, according to the national standard, and achieved the planned functions in power generation and flood control, marking a significant step toward completion acceptance in 2025.

Lawmakers included the rule in the Inflation Reduction Act to push automakers to rely less on dominant Chinese suppliers.
5. Mercedes-Benz said today it will set up a 50:50 JV in China with BWM Brilliance to operate a supercharging network. The JV plans to open the first batch of supercharging stations in China's key NEV cities in 2024 and have at least 1,000 such stations by 2026.
