1. Canada is reportedly planning to impose new tariffs on electric vehicles from China, following moves by the US and the EU. The Canadian government plans to announce a 100% levy on EVs from China and 25% on steel and aluminum, according to Bloomberg citing people familiar with the matter. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is expected to unveil the policy in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
2. According to data released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, China plans to develop 5,095 green factories, 371 green industry parks, 605 supply chain management enterprises, and approximately 35,000 green products.
3. In the first 7 months, China's actual use of foreign investment in the high-tech manufacturing amounted to RMB 69.58 billion, which accounted for 12.9% of the nation's total actual use of foreign capital, marking a 2.6 percentage points increase compared to same period last year.

Chinese electric vehicle giant BYD has signed an agreement with Huawei to use the Chinese tech conglomerate's advanced autonomous driving system in its off-road Fangchengbao EVs, Huawei said on Tuesday. The Bao 8 SUV under the Fangchengbao lineup will be the first BYD model to sport Huawei's Qiankun intelligent driving system and go on sale later this year.
