1. Daqing Oilfield, China's largest onshore oilfield, produced 15.09 million tonnes of crude oil in the first half of 2023, said the oilfield, a subsidiary of the China National Petroleum Corporation. During the same period, the oilfield yielded around 2.97 billion cubic meters of natural gas, an increase of 63 million cubic meters compared with the same period last year.
2. China's energy intensity, the amount of energy consumed per unit of GDP, decreased 26.4% in the past decade, according to the National Development and Reform Commission on Monday.
3. In the latest China Lithium-Ion Battery Supply Chain Update 2023 launched by Bloomberg New Energy Finance on July 10, China's lithium-ion battery manufacturing capacity reached 1,173GWh(1.173TWh) in 2022, becoming the first country in the world to enter a TWh era. The report also mentioned that overseas battery demand exceeded local manufacturing capacity, and China's battery exports have increased by 79% in 2022.
4. China’s solar exports grew 64% to US$52 billion in 2022 despite global trade tensions, according to latest analysis from Wood Mackenzie.
5. A record high! The peak power load of China's Southern Power Grid reached 226 million kilowatts on July 10, an increase of 3 million kilowatts compared with the peak load last year. In 2023, China's economic growth has been better than expected, and power demand in the southern region has gradually recovered.
6. On July 10, Tongwei Group reached an investment agreement for a 16GW high-efficiency crystalline silicon cell project in SW China's Meishan City, Sichuan Province. The planned total investment will be 5 billion yuan, and an estimated annual output value will be 12 billion yuan. The project will start construction in the third quarter of 2023.
7. Energy conservation, carbon reduction, and low-carbon development have integrated throughout various stages of coal mining, transportation, and utilization in Jungar Banner, N China's Inner Mongolia. By the end of December 2022, 126 intelligent coal mines had been established in Inner Mongolia. In early 2023, the inauguration of the railway transportation system at Datang Longwanggou Coal Mine marked the debut of the first electrified underground loading railway in China.
8. In June 2023, the installed capacity of power batteries in China was 32.9GWh, a YoY increase of 21.8%. Among them, the installed volume of ternary batteries was 10.1GWh, accounting for 30.6% of the total, down 13% YoY; the installed volume of lithium iron phosphate batteries was 22.7GWh, accounting for 69.1% of the total, an increase of 47.5% YoY. From Jan. to Jun., the cumulative installed capacity of power batteries in China was 152.1 GWh, up 38.1% YoY, according to data from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers.
9. Sungrow, the global leading inverter and energy storage system supplier, announced that it signed a framework agreement to supply its inverter solutions to 750MWp PV projects with Sonnedix, the international renewable energy producer.
10. On July 11, according to TrendForce, as automakers accelerate investment and R&D in solid-state batteries, mass production of all-solid-state batteries with highly active positive and negative materials is expected to begin around 2030-2035, when the energy density of lithium batteries can reach 500Wh /kg, the corresponding cruising range is about 2~3 times that of liquid lithium batteries, equal to the cruising range of fuel vehicles.
