1. On July 13, Xinjiang's new energy installed capacity reached 50.26 million kilowatts, exceeding 50 million kilowatts, accounting for 41% of the total installed capacity.

4. China made July 12 National Low-carbon Day in 2013 to promote a societal shift toward green, low-carbon, and sustainable production and lifestyle. 8. In June 2023, the electricity consumption of the whole society in China was 775.1 billion kWh, up 3.9% YoY. The electricity consumption of urban and rural residents was 110.8 billion kWh, up 2.2% YoY. From Jan. to Jun., the electricity consumption of the whole society in China was 4,307.6 billion kWh, up 5.0% YoY. The electricity consumption of urban and rural residents was 619.7 billion kWh, up 1.3% YoY, according to the National Energy Administration of China on July 13.
9. China's first high-altitude photovoltaic hydrogen storage project started operation Tuesday in NW China's Qinghai. The project can generate 2.2 bln kWh of green electricity a year, and with a hydrogen output of 600 m3/h, it can help cut CO2 emissions by 1.48 mln tonnes annually.
10. China has established the world's largest carbon market for Green house Gas emissions and has significantly cut its carbon emissions intensity. The cumulative volume of carbon emissions allowances on the market was 237 million tonnes by June 30, with a turnover of $1.52 billion.
