1. Tesla today announced to cut the prices of two versions of Model Y in China by CNY14,000 (USD1,940). After the reduction, the Model Y Long Range and Performance will cost CNY299,900 (USD41,600) and CNY349,900 (USD48,500), respectively.
2. The world's first offshore smart "wind+fish" farm was installed in Yangjiang, S China's Guangdong on Sat. With wind turbines and fish farming integration, the China-developed installation can generate over 45 million kWh of electricity and harvest about 75 tonnes of fish per year.
3. China Datang's Heshun wind farm in Chongqing was recently connected to the grid and started power generation, promptly meeting the summer peak demands. It can generate 150 GWh of clean energy annually, saving 48,700 tonnes of standard coal and 647,900 tonnes of water per year.
4. Recently, China's battery manufacturing giant CATL (SZ: 300750) and China Energy Engineering Group (SH: 601868) participated in the establishment of Nengjian Times New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., with an authorized capital of CNY 600 mln, and its business scope includes energy storage tech services.
5. On August 13, according to the latest document of the State Council of China, the country will introduce policies and measures to promote green power consumption, and support foreign-invested enterprises to participate more in green certificate transactions and cross-provincial and cross-regional green power transactions.
6. Wind turbine blades of the 600 MW Monsoon Wind Power Project contracted by Power China have arrived in Sekong, Laos. The project will be the 1st in Laos, the largest in SE Asia, and the 1st cross-border new energy project in Asia as it's billed to export electricity to Vietnam.
7. The first Photovoltaic+Storage+Hydrogen+Thermal integrated demonstration project in NW China finished construction in Zhangye, Gansu Province. The 1,000-MW PV infrastructure enables hydrogen generation via water electrolysis with surplus electricity.
8. Chinese car giant BYD is teaming up with Philippine conglomerate Ayala Corporation to sell electric vehicles in the country, Nikkei Asia reported. Ayala will leverage its sales network to handle the sales and maintenance of a wide variety of BYD's EVs.
9. The US'Tesla, China's Zeekr, Germany's Volkswagen, and seven other electric car makers have been reducing the price of their new energy vehicles in China since August to spur sales amid a highly competitive market.
10. China’s vehicle parts manufacturers logged double-digit growth in the first seven months from a year earlier as the auto after-sales market grows steadily and more companies transition to cross-border e-commerce.
