1. Lu Weibing, president of Xiaomi, said yesterday that the company has completed the summer test of its car, beating expectations. The firm will keep its mass production target for the first half of 2024 unchanged and aim to become one of the world's top five auto brands in the future, he added.
2. As of the end of July 2023, the number of charging facilities in China reached 6.928 million units, up 74.1% YoY. From Jan. to July 2023, the national new energy vehicle charging capacity reached 44.14 billion kWh, up 99.6% YoY, which exceeded the charging capacity of last year, according to China's National Energy Administration on August 30.

BYD Co. remains confident of selling 3 million new energy cars this year despite economic challenges and an intense price war in the world's second-biggest economy, founder and Chairman Wang Chuanfu told analysts at a briefing Tuesday, according to Bloomberg citing people who were present at the event.
4. Chint Solar BD, the Bangladeshi subsidiary of China's Chint, has secured the approval for the construction of a 100 MW solar power plant in northern Bangladesh. The PV facility will sell power at a regulated tariff of $0.998/kWh under a 20-year PPA to the Bangladesh Power Development Board, according to pv magazine.
5. On August 29, Gotion High-Tech (SZ: 002074) released the 2023 semi-annual report. In the first half of the year, the company reached an operating income was CNY 15.239 billion, up 76.42% YoY, and the net profit attributable to the parent company was CNY 209 million, a year-on-year increase of 223.75%.
6. CGN New Energy has released the bidding results for its 2023 centralized purchase plan. Its tender for a total of 12 GW solar inverters was shared by Huawei, Sungrow, and Sineng. Huawei secured 6 GW of orders with the highest bidding price, while Sungrow and Sineng evenly divided the remaining portion at a comparatively lower price. CGN set a 45-day delivery window from order confirmation for all products.
7. Golden Solar New Energy Technology Holdings has announced unaudited revenue of CNY 156 mln ($21.4 mln) for the six-month period ending June 30, 2023 – up 16% from last year. It attributed the anticipated net loss, ranging from CNY 120 mln to CNY 130 mln, to various factors, including CNY 62 mln in share options, marketing expenses for PV products, and R&D costs for new flexible solar awning products.
8. Longi has announced updated wafer prices, with the price of its P-type M10 size wafers, measuring 150um in thickness, up 15.4% to CNY 3.38 each. This marks the first price increase since May. Industry analysts have attributed this increase to sustained high demand in the downstream market and tight supplies of M10 size P-type wafers.
9. Hozon New Energy Automobile, one of China's top five electric vehicle startups, has secured CNY7 billion (USD961.6 million) in pre-initial public offering funding. Hozon, also known as Neta Auto, has completed a crossover financing round, the Shanghai-based carmaker said yesterday.
10. On August 30, PetroChina (HK: 00857) released the 2023 semi-annual report. Its operating income in 2023H1 was CNY 1.48 trillion, a year-on-year decrease of 8.3%; the net profit attributable to shareholders of the parent company was CNY 85.27 billion, up 4.5% YoY. According to PetroChina, the oil and gas equivalent production in the first half of the year was 795.1 million barrels, up 4.2% YoY.
