1. JinkoSolar says it shipped more than 52 GW of modules in the first nine months of this year, with N-type modules accounting for 57% of the total. The company's current order book surpasses its 2023 full-year forecasts. It also said that it secured a 3.2 GW n-type module supply deal with CHN Energy Investment Group and recently opened an integrated factory in Shanxi, China.
2. On Oct. 11, China Energy International Engineering, a subsidiary of China Energy Engineering Group, signed an engineering, procurement and construction contract with Philippine energy firm ISOC to construct a 1 GW floating PV project on Laguna Lake near Manila, Philippines.
3. China's first hydrogen fuel cell-powered ship "Sanxia Qingzhou 1" successfully made its maiden voyage on Wednesday in Yichang, C China's Hubei. It marks a breakthrough in the application of hydrogen fuel cell technology to inland waterway ships. The 49.9-m-long and 10.4-m-wide ship has a cruising range of 200 kilometers and can reduce CO2 emissions by 343.67 tonnes annually.
4. WM Motor will try to save itself and solve its debt problems through strategy adjustments and company restructurings, the troubled Chinese NEV startup said yesterday on Weibo. WM Motor has filed for bankruptcy due to insolvency.
5. Trina Solar announced yesterday that they have built a combined production capacity of 6.5GW in Vietnam and Thailand. The company's U.S. project is proceeding smoothly and is expected to be operational by the second half of 2024. Additionally, the company anticipates shipping 65-70GW of modules in 2023, as reported by the Shanghai Securities News.
6. According to a report from Seoul-based SNE Research, Chinese companies are expanding their share of the US and European electric-car battery markets thanks to lower prices. China's CATL ranked No.1, with a 37% share of the market worldwide, at the end of August. When BYD's 16% share is included, the two Chinese companies account for more than half the battery market for electric cars, the data showed.
7. Malaysian automaker DRB Hicom said on Wednesday it has signed an agreement with Chinese carmaker Geely Group to develop an automotive hub in Malaysia. This comes after Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said in July that Geely will invest $10 billion to develop an auto-making hub in Tanjung Malim in western Malaysia.
8. The Lijiaxia Hydropower Station on the Yellow River, China's first & the world's largest of its kind with turbines in double-row layout, now runs at full capacity upon operation of its 5th unit Tue. The 2-mln-kW station has generated 142.4 bln kWh of electricity as of end-Sept.
9. On Oct. 11, China Petroleum Engineering Co.,Ltd. announced that recently, its wholly-owned subsidiary CPECC received a letter of award from the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company in the UAE for the sixth train project of the Al-Bhasa Oilfield Central Processing Station. The contract value of the project is about USD297 million.

On Oct. 11, according to data from China Industry Technology Innovation Strategic Alliance For Electric Vehicle, in September 2023, China's total output of power and energy storage batteries was 77.4GWh, up 37.4% YoY. From January to September 2023, China's total cumulative output of power and energy storage batteries was 533.7GWh, up 44.9% YoY.
