1. Xiaomi Group held a new product launch conference yesterday and disclosed its 2040 carbon neutrality commitment. Lei Jun, the founder and CEO of Xiaomi, mentioned that by 2040, Xiaomi's existing businesses will achieve carbon neutrality in their operations and use 100% renewable energy.
2. China has become the world's largest green credit market and the second-largest green bond market in terms of green finance products size, while the country’s green insurance is still in the early stages, according to a report released by Paulson Institute's Green Finance Center and Beijing Institute of Finance and Sustainability yesterday.
3. SAIC Group's net profit declined 25% to CNY4.3 billion (USD587.8 million) in the third quarter from a year earlier, the Chinese car giant said in its latest earnings report. Revenue fell 6.7% to CNY191.6 billion (USD26.2 billion).
4. CATL's new energy power and energy storage battery manufacturing base in China's Guizhou was officially put into operation today, local media reported. The base's CNY7 billion (USD957 mln) first phase is expected to reach an annual production capacity of 30 GWh.
5. On Oct. 26, Goldwind released its performance report for 2023Q3. During the reporting period, the company's operating income was CNY 10.318 billion, a year-on-year increase of 8.61%; net profit was CNY 9.4353 million, a year-on-year decrease of 97.88%. From January to September 2023, Goldwind achieved an external sales capacity of 8903.66MW.
6. The drilling of China's first scientific exploration borehole with a depth exceeding 10,000 meters, located in the Tarim Basin in NW China, has surpassed 8,000 meters, according to the Tarim Oilfield on Thursday.

On Oct. 27, according to the latest report released by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment of China, the country's CO2 emissions per unit of GDP fell by more than 51% in 2022 compared with 2002. By the end of 2022, China's non-fossil energy consumption proportion reached 17.5%, and the total installed capacity of renewable energy reached 1.213 billion kW.
8. Chinese automaker Changan on Thursday signed a land purchase agreement with Thailand's industrial estate developer WHA Group to build its new electric vehicle factory in Thailand. Scheduled to start operation in 2025 with an initial capacity of 100,000 units per year, the plant will be a production base for electrified vehicles to supply the Thai market and export to neighboring ASEAN and other markets including Australia, New Zealand and Britain.
9. On Oct. 27, according to Shanghai Securities News, China completed its first cross-border digital RMB settlement of international crude oil. PetroChina International Co., Ltd. used digital RMB for the first time to settle a cargo of crude oil purchased on the trading center platform through the digital wallet opened by the Shanghai Oil and Gas Trading Center at the Bank of Communications.
10. Sydney-based MPower has signed a master supply agreement with Trina Solar for the supply of solar panels and trackers as part of plans to develop a portfolio of more than 30 solar farms and battery energy storage assets across Australia's eastern states.
