1. The Samarkand and Jizzakh solar plants in Uzbekistan built by Dongfang Electric, achieved grid connection on Feb 10th and Feb 15th, coinciding with Chinese New Year. These projects are pivotal for Uzbekistan's clean energy future.
2. Dapeng Princess, one of the world's largest river-sea intermodal LNG carriers was delivered on Feb. 18, 2023, in East China's Shanghai. The ship with a max designed capacity of 80,000 m3 boasts great seaworthiness due to its 8.5-m draft, the shallowest of its kind.
3. German auto giant Daimler plans to introduce 15 brand-new and new-generation models this year to accelerate its electrification strategy, according to its CEO of the joint venture in China. Beijing Mercedes-Benz Sales Service will release the new generation of the Mercedes-Benz EQS pure electric sports utility vehicle and Mercedes-Benz EQA electric luxury crossover, the new pure electric versions of the Mercedes-Benz G series, and other models built on its 800-volt high-voltage MMA platform, Duan Jianjun said at a conference on Jan. 22.
4. Chinese solar manufacturer GCL System Integration Technology (GCL SI) has secured a 550MW PV module supply agreement with Indian state-owned utility SJVN Green Energy. Modules will be used for two solar parks, Khavda and MSEDCL, located in the states of Gujarat and Maharashtra respectively. Shipping of the entirety of the supply will be made within 30 days of signing the contract.

According to China Yangtze Power, as of 24:00 on February 16, the cumulative power generation of the six cascade power stations in the world's largest clean energy corridor exceeded 3.5 trillion kWh, equivalent to saving more than 1 billion tons of standard coal and reducing CO2 emissions by more than 2.8 billion tons.
8. Shenhai Yihao, or Deep Sea No.1, China's 1st independently-developed ultra-deepwater gas field, saw its integrated processing platform for the phase II project start offshore hoisting Sunday. The 136-m-high platform with an upper block and a deepwater jacket weighs over 14,000 tons.
9. The first locally made train for the Istanbul Airport Metro project rolled off the line in the plant of CRRC Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive Co., Ltd. in Turkey. This is the first time that a Chinese overseas company manufactures an autonomous metro train with a speed level of 120km/h, and Turkey's "fastest metro train" successfully implements localized manufacturing.

Chinese electric vehicle maker Xpeng said it would hire 4,000 this year and invest millions in artificial intelligence, as it seeks to survive what it describes as a "bloody sea" of competition in the world's largest auto market. The additional employees would represent a 25% expansion of the Volkswagen-backed EV maker's workforce from the latest headcount of 15,829 at the end of 2022.
