1. The clean energy installed capacity in NW China's Qinghai topped 53.83 million kW by June, or 93.26% of its total installed capacity, the highest green power proportion in China. The province saw the single-month green electricity generation exceed 10 billion kWh for the 1st time in June.
2. BYD said yesterday that the Chinese EV and battery giant secured an order of 120 electric buses from Golden Arrow in South Africa, marking a historic step towards establishing the first electric bus fleet in the country and promoting the electrification of local public transport.

Japan's Honda Motor will close a factory in China and halt vehicle production at another plant, the automaker said on Thursday, as it seeks to start producing more electric vehicles amid heavy competition from Chinese brands. Honda will close a plant operated through its joint venture with Chinese state-owned automaker Guangzhou Automobile Group in October, a company spokesperson said.

The Russian Direct Investment Fund and JSC Kama, which is implementing the Atom electric vehicle project, have agreed to involve the Chinese international corporation Xuan Yuan Group in the project with the prospect of localizing the electric car in Harbin, China and creating an R&D center there.

Xpeng Aeroht inked a deal with the government of Hechi in China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region to promote flying cars' future testing, application, and supporting services, Xpeng Motors' unit said today. The X2, its two-seater flying auto, has made test flights in various scenarios in the city.

9. China has updated a policy aimed at boosting car purchases by doubling the amount of subsidies. China's Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Finance jointly issued a new announcement today to add support for large-scale equipment replacement and consumer goods trade-in.
10. As per the National Energy Administration of China, the new grid-connected photovoltaic capacity in the first half of 2024 was 102.48 million kilowatts. This included 49.60 million kilowatts of centralized photovoltaic power stations and 52.88 million kilowatts of distributed photovoltaics.
